Summer Family Catechesis. Summer offers most of us many more opportunities for “family catechesis”, as children are home and schedules are more relaxed. As we enjoy the great outdoors, we have an opportunity to express our thanks to God for all of God’s wonderful creation. Since families are together more, prayer before meals is an easy way to incorporate God into our day. It is good to consider even using a bit of our extra free time as a volunteer to help those in need (sometimes even a neighbor). Of course, prayer and Sunday Mass continue to be top priorities, even if we are away on vacation. We hope everyone enjoys a safe and happy summer.

Registration for the 2008/2009 Term. Anyone wishing to register for the upcoming term should call the Religious Education Office and speak with Mrs. Hurley (544-8423) to make an appointment. There are currently over 280 students registered for next term. The office remains open until the end of July.

A Personal Note. On July 1st, I will begin my fifteenth year here at Sacred Heart, and I can truly say, I continue to enjoy coming to the office each day. While the past year was one of transition and change (both expected and unexpected), our parish continues to grow and flourish. The spirit and faith of this community remains a source of inspiration in my ministry. I look forward to the coming year and working with Fr. Leopold and Fr. McKenna, our catechists and parish families. I pray that our Lord will continue to bless us in all our endeavors. Carol A. Hurley
